Dog Friendly Cottages

All our cottages accept Dogs for FREE**.

At Higher Longford Cottages we have tried to make family holidays a breeze. We know that sometimes taking your dog on holiday with your dog can restrict your activities.

We now offer fenced gardens for your dogs to run around and enjoy your company.**(except Sycamore Cottage)

Each of the gardens have benches or seating for you to sit and enjoy the sunshine.

If you’re looking for places to walk your dog, you can walk directly from the park onto the moors. There are hundreds of lovely walks in the area which your family and dogs will love. Lots of local streams and rivers for your dogs to jump in! And you don’t even need to worry about getting a “smelly dog” because we have an outside tap where you can give them a rinse off before settling them in their bed brought from home.

Dog Kennel

We now offer the facility for leaving your dog in our Day Kennel. Dogs can be left during the day unattended in our kennel for free.*

You can then enjoy your day out at some of our local attractions where taking your dog is not suitable. This is especially good in hot weather since the kennel is in a cool and shady location on the park. As a manufactured kennel its also safe.

You and your dog are welcome in Tavistock. There are lots of place where you can take your dog. These include the park, including children’s play area, Canal walks, walk by the river Tavy or why not enjoy a coffee and cake at Dukes Coffee House with outside seating. For more ideas why not visit the local Tourist Information Centre in Tavistock.

Cottages - 2 Dogs are free in our cottages, 3+ please contact us.

Gardens - Oak, Rowan & Ash have gardens. Sycamore Cottage does not have a garden.  Fences are approx 1.5 metres high. Dogs must not be left unattended.  Please clear up after your dog.
